Glenn Shannon joined Shorenstein in 1994. After spending seven years heading the company’s New York office, he relocated to San Francisco to assume the role of president. He became vice chairman in 2016 and participates in the strategic direction of the company as a member of its executive committee and in the company’s investment activities as a member of its investment committee.
Founded in 1924, Shorenstein is a privately-owned real estate firm headquartered in San Francisco and active nationally in the ownership and management of high-quality office and multifamily properties. Starting in 1992, Shorenstein has sponsored twelve closed-end investment funds with total equity commitments of $8.8 billion.
Mr. Shannon is a member of Urban Land Institute and Lambda Alpha International, and he is a member of The Real Estate Roundtable and co-chairs The Real Estate Roundtable Political Action Committee (REALPAC). He also serves as co-chair of the Real Assets Advisory Committee for the Williams College Investment Office.
Mr. Shannon serves on the Advisory Board for Carmel Partners, on the Investment Committee for Wind River Trust Company, and as an independent non-executive director for The Addax and Oryx Group LLC.
Prior to joining Shorenstein, Mr. Shannon worked for twelve years at the law firm of Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York in its Real Estate Group, the last four years as a partner. At Shearman & Sterling, Mr. Shannon represented a wide range of domestic and international clients in acquisitions, sales, financings, joint ventures and leasing transactions.
Mr. Shannon graduated from Williams College with a B.A., and from University of Michigan Law School with a J.D.
